QUESTIONS

WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLERS?

Dermal fillers are injectable substances used to add volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial contours.

WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLERS MADE OF?

There are two main types of dermal fillers. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Dermal Fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, RHA and Versa) and Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) Dermal Fillers (Radiesse).

  • Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps maintain skin hydration and volume. HA fillers add volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial contours by attracting and holding water molecule
  • Calcium hydroxylapatite is a mineral-like compound found in bones. Calcium hydroxylapatite is mixed with a gel like substance to create a soft filler but strong filler. CaHA fillers provide volume and stimulate collagen production, offering a more robust and longer-lasting effect.
